Disney’s Animal Kingdom is my second favorite park. I (Donna) absolutely love the Land of Pandora and the clever theming as you travel through Africa and Asia.

There are many changes taking place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, in particular with the phased closure of DinoLand USA. Be sure to visit The BoneYard before it closes very soon.

The “It’s Tough To Be a Bug” 3D show closed on March 17th to make room for the new “Zootopia Better Together” show set to open in winter 2025.

In the pre-show for Flight of Passage, guests are scanned and linked with their own personal avatar. When they enter the “Link Chamber,” they connect to their avatar and are then able to fly on the back of their banshee.

When exiting the attraction, guests can make their own Avatar at the ACE Avatar Maker located inside the Windtraders gift shop. An Alpha Centauri Expedition Scan Technician uses a facial capture scanner to enter the full can into the Hybrid Digitizing System.

Guests can then choose 1 of 4 body types to choose from. Both youth and adult body types are available. From here, a personal, unique avatar is formed.

Discounted Animal Kingdom Experience

This is an amazing souvenir, but it comes with a hefty price tag of $79.99. Currently, you can save $29.99 on this experience, making the ACE Avatar Maker figurine only $50.00 (plus tax).

Other discounts can also be applied, such as with a Walt Disney World Annual Pass, for Disney Vacation Club Members, and Disney Visa cardmembers. Act quickly, this sale is only available while supplies last.
