Gargoyles
If you grew up enjoying Disney Afternoons, chances are that at some point you probably stumbled across the iconic 90’s Disney animated series Gargoyles. If you are unfamiliar with it, Gargoyles is an animated television series. It premiered in 1994 and ended in 1997.
The series follows a mysterious group of ancient Gargoyles who find themselves living in New York. They are stone by day, but at night they awake from their stone slumber to protect Manhattan from modern-day barbarians.
It was a popular show for many 90s kids. And now, some of the very people who watched it during its original run are sharing it with a new generation of fans. If you want to enjoy the series, too, you can see all the episodes on Disney+.
Gargoyles Remastered
Now, Gargoyles fans are in for a treat from Disney. If you enjoyed watching the series when it first debuted, you may have also enjoyed the classic video game as well. And SOON you can enjoy an all-new Gargoyles video game. Disney Games is releasing Gargoyles Remastered in collaboration with Empty Clip Studios for modern consoles!
Disney describes the game, “Gargoyles Remastered is a tribute to the classic video game and animated series, with an engaging storyline — put an end to the Eye of Odin, a corrupted magical talisman which can transform whoever comes to possess it. Spread your wings and soar through the skies as Goliath in this remastered classic with enhanced visuals and modern features. Use stone-crushing strength, glide through the air mastering mid-air attacks, and scale stone towers and buildings across ancient Scotland and modern-day Manhattan to save the world from destruction.”
Release Date AND a Special Edition
The spell is about to be broken! Gargoyles Remastered releases worldwide on October 19, 2023, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and GOG. You can also pre-order your digital copy as early as today if you wish.
Even better, developers are giving hardcore fans a chance to own premium physical editions of Gargoyles Remastered, including two collector’s editions and a retro re-release of the original Gargoyles SEGA Genesis game! The limited run is only available for preorder through October 22, so if you want it, go get it.
Gargoyles Remastered comes to modern consoles on October 19, but if you want the special editions, you need to act now.
According to Disney, “the Collector’s Edition featuring an exclusive NECA Goliath figurine and the retro white clamshell case, reminiscent of those Disney VHS tapes that so many “Gargoyles” fans grew up with.” It sounds like it would also make a fantastic gift for the nostalgic gamer in your life.
