One Disney Resort Removed from Reopening Plan

One Disney Resort Removed from Reopening Plan

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

On Sunday, we released a list of the 10 Disney World resorts that are scheduled to reopen between mid-July and mid-October. Well, now that list has dropped down to 9.

According to the Disney website, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House DVC villas will NOT reopen on July 10th. No new date has been given.

Remember that Fort Wilderness and all DVC resorts, except for Jambo House, opened on June 22nd.

DVC Phased Reopening Announcement and Use Year Point Information

The new reopening plan for 9 additional Disney resorts now read as:

July 10Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort
July 29Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
August 12Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
August 24Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort
September 21Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
October 1Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
October 14Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

This will also affect those staying in DVC villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village because normally those guests would have access to the Jambo House restaurants and swimming pool. It seems that this will not be the case for the foreseeable future.

This DVC Resort is Now Available for Reservations!

Non-DVC Animal Kingdom Lodge rooms, as well as Wilderness Lodge, Port Orleans resorts and All Star resorts are also left off this reopening list and may not open until 2021.

Check-In Procedures and Cancellation Policy Updates for Disney World Guests

Disney’s website stresses:

“Please note that given the fluidity of the current environment, these dates are subject to change and Guests’ reservations could still be modified to other Disney Resort hotels if needed.….Given the current situation, there are some Disney Resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet. We will continue to evaluate the situation and reopen more locations when the environment is right to do so.”

I hope that Wilderness Lodge and Jambo House reopen by Christmas-time since they are my favorite Disney Christmas season resorts!

At Kenny the Pirate we will continue to keep you updated with news of Disney’s reopening plan!
