A rare Donald and Daisy photo and other fun at Pete’s Silly Sideshow

A rare shot of Daisy and Donald together inside Pete's Silly Sideshow. I entered Goofy/Donald's side. There was only one family in the tent, so Donald was escorting a family from his meet to Minnie. He had to stop to give Daisy a little smooch and I crossed the rope (jumped it) and hustled over to request this rare photo. They work together thematically very well.

WOWZER – another clown joined the Storybook Circus

WOWZER (13)

Another pleasant surprise (if you can handle clowns) in Storybook Circus is the addition of Wowzer the acrobatic, juggling clown.  After watching his 14 minute performance I left thinking his act was sort of a combination of Serveur Amusant and Sergio the Juggler from Epcot but unique in it’s own right.  Thankfully, he never used a whistle!  Those whistles in Epcot can drive me nuts.

New Fantasyland Grand Opening: Avoid the Magic Kingdom December 6th

I’m not sure who is excited about the “Grand Opening” of New Fantasyland at this point because some elements have been available for weeks or even months.  Perhaps you haven’t had a chance to see the amazing new areas, I’m not negating that.  However, I would AVOID the MAGIC KINGDOM at all costs on December 6 just because many people will attend just for the “Grand Opening”.  Many people will want to be in the Park on the 6th for the “Grand Opening” and it’s an Extra Magic Hour day which automatically increases crowd sizes.  Park operations will change dramatically for the two days of this event.   If you can visit the Magic Kingdom December 7th or after, do so.  Operations will return to normal and lines will as well.  Disney is stating that New Fantasyland is closed on December 5th and that it will be open at 8:00am for Extra Magic Hours on the 6th.

Crowds may be lighter than normal on December 5th, but some things are closed and others close early.

Here’s some of what you can expect those days.

December 5
  1. Magic Kingdom operating hours are from 9:00-7:00
  2. The Enchanted Forest area closed to guests all day.
  3. Storybook Circus will only be open from 9:00-3:00
  4. Mickey’s PhilharMagic will be CLOSED.
  5. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and the Carrousel will only be open from 9:00-6:00
  6. Wishes will be offered at 6:00pm.  (Great view of this early show from the Polynesian beach!)
 December 6
  1. Magic Kingdom operating hours are from 9:00-7:00 (8:00 am opening for Resort Guests with Extra Magic Hours priveledges, creating a bigger unnecessary mess).
  2. Grand Opening Ceremony to be held on the Castle Stage at 10:00am.
  3. Be Our Guest Restaurant will be CLOSED ALL DAY
  4. The Enchanted Forest and Storybook Circus are said to open for guests at 8am for morning Extra Magic Hours.
  5. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is 7:00pm to 12:00am (Could this party become a sell out?)

Marie to join the Magic Kingdom

Marie from the movie “The Aristocats” will be moving from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom on Sunday, September 30th.  Her last day at Epcot will be Saturday, September 29th.

Marie will take Daisy’s spot at the flag pole as Daisy leaves to join the circus in the all new Pete’s Silly Circus in the Storybook Circus area of New Fantasyland.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow Storybook Circus meet and greet to soft open September 30

According to a reliable source, the all new Storybook Circus character meet and greet area known as Pete’s Silly Sideshow is set to begin soft opening mode on Sunday, September 30th.  You may recall that this is the tent that will house Goofy & Donald, Minnie & Daisy.

Again, I’m excited that my timing for being in Walt Disney World is impeccable as I get to experience this first hand on it’s grand opening!
