Disney World Crowd Calendar March 2020

Disney World Crowd Calendar March 2020

Disney World Crowd Calendar March 2020Spring Break Season!  March 2020 and early April 2020 are typically a BUSY time to visit Walt Disney World.  The crowds will remain Heavy to Insane  through the entire month due to a variety of school spring breaks.  Be sure to follow my recommendations here on the Disney World Crowd Calendar for March 2020.

The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival begins in March and runs until Late May and it creates a slight increase in crowds, but affects Epcot more on the weekends than at other times.  The concert lineup for Garden Rocks haven’t been announced yet.  It’s rare that rides are closed during this month, but check my Attraction Refurbishment page closer to your date to verify.  We do know that the Walt Disney World Railroad and Tomorrowland Speedway will be closed.

While March 2019 is typically busy, you can manage them with good touring plans and Fastpass+ usage.   I’ve set touring records during some of the busiest days, so I know what I’m talking about. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, rise early on your Magic Kingdom day and take advantage of the early opening of the Magic Kingdom.

Avoid the trap of visiting a park on its longest hours day.  More people will be there and the wait times can be 30% to 100% higher than other days.

What will the weather be like during your March trip?

  • Average high temperature:  78°F
  • Average low temperature:  54°F
  • Mean temperature:  66°F
  • Record high temperature:  92°F (1963)
  • Record low temperature:  25°F (1980)
  • Average Precipitation:  4.01 in.

Weather in Orlando in March tends to be mild, but evenings can feel chilly, so bring a hoodie or jacket.  It still rains some times, but not like it does here in the summer.

Should I use Extra Magic Hours privilege?

If you are a Disney World hotel guest who is planning to use Extra Magic Hours, use the morning ones.  The morning ones are a great benefit, if you leave after lunch or parade time.  Avoid the parks that offer evening Extra Magic Hours because they have large crowds at night and many rides have long lines (Hollywood Studios and Epcot).  I used to recommend the Magic Kingdom late EMH, but only the final hour has any benefit.  If you choose a Late Extra Magic Hour park, you should plan to sleep in the next day.

Disney World Crowd Calendar February 2020

Disney World Crowd Calendar February 2020

February 2020 Disney World Crowd CalendarMy Disney World Crowd Calendar for February 2020 will be a mostly moderate crowd month, except President’s Week and the Princess Half Marathon Weekend, when the crowds can become quite substantial.  The only event scheduled is the Epcot Festival of the Arts, so we might find a few attractions down for refurbishment.   Those refurbishments are typically listed a few months before hand.  Water rides may be closed.  Check my Attraction Refurbishment page closer to your date.

While President’s Week is typically insanely busy, you can manage them with good touring plans and Fastpass+ usage.   If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, rise early on your Magic Kingdom day and take advantage of the early opening of the Magic Kingdom.   When visiting the parks, I recommend that you avoid the Extra Magic Hour parks as they will draw in more guests.

What will the weather be like during your February trip?

  • Average high temperature:  73°F
  • Average low temperature:  50°F
  • Mean temperature:  62°F
  • Record high temperature:  89°F (1988)
  • Record low temperature:  17°F (2000)
  • Average Precipitation:  2.71 in.

The weather in February is quite cool and typically doesn’t rain as much.  Wear layers because 75 degrees with the sun shining on you in Florida feels hot and at night the damp air can feel pretty bitter with a light wind.  Be sure to bring a jacket and hat.

Should I use Extra Magic Hours privilege?

Avoid the trap of visiting a park on its longest hours day.  More people will be there and the wait times can be 30% to 100% higher than other days.

If you are planning to use Extra Magic Hours, use the morning ones, they are a great benefit, if you leave after lunch or parade time.  Avoid the parks that offer evening Extra Magic Hours because they have large crowds at night and many rides have long lines (Hollywood Studios and Epcot).  The exception would be the Magic Kingdom late at night because most guests won’t stay up from 1am to 3am in the morning.  If you choose a Late Extra Magic Hour park, you should plan to sleep in the next day.

Disney World Crowd Calendar January 2020

Disney World Crowd Calendar January 2020

The Disney World Crowd Calendar for January 2020 shows that this month is typically a pretty calm one at Walt Disney World.  The weather is cold and the crowds are average, except for the first few days, Marathon weekend and MLK Weekend.  Epcot offers the Festival of the Arts.  There’s no special parties, so many rides go down for refurbishment.   Those refurbishments are typically listed a few months before hand.  Water rides are typically closed most or all of January.

Disney World Crowd Calendar January 2020

While the final week of Christmas vacation is insanely busy, you can manage them with good touring plans and Fastpass+ usage.   If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, rise early on your Magic Kingdom day and take advantage of the early opening of the Magic Kingdom.   When visiting the parks, I recommend that you avoid the Extra Magic Hour parks as they will draw in more guests.

With lower hours than normal early in the month, it may be best to spend a day in the parks and spend an evening the Fort Wilderness Campfire.

Avoid the trap of visiting a park on its longest hours day.  More people will be there and the wait times can be 30% to 100% higher than other days.  The BEST day to visit the Magic Kingdom in terms of lines is a Christmas Party day.  Many attractions are walk-on.

What will the weather be like during your January trip?

  • Average high temperature:  71°F
  • Average low temperature:  47°F
  • Mean temperature:  59°F
  • Record high temperature:  89°F (2006)
  • Record low temperature:  18°F (1985)
  • Average Precipitation:  2.91 in.

January is the coldest month of the year in Orlando and oddly enough we still get a decent amount of rain too.  Be sure to dress for both warmer days and colder nights with a nice jacket and cap.

Historic Disney World Park Hours

Disney World Crowd Calendar August 2019

Disney World Crowd Calendar August 2019

Disney World Crowd Calendar August 2019Disney World Crowd Calendar August 2019 brings us an insanely hot and rainy month.  It’s the second wettest month historically, so expect an afternoon thunderstorm most days of your vacation.  I know it’s known as the “Sunshine State,” but that is just a marketing ploy.  It rains often here, especially in the summer.  The first week and a half of August  is end of the busy summer travel season at Walt Disney World, so the parks are quite crowded initially.  The parks begin to lighten around mid-month and will continue with moderate crowds through the rest of the month.  The last week of August is the best time to visit Walt Disney World in the summer season, if you children haven’t started school or you are willing to allow them to miss time.  September is the preferred month as far as crowds are concerned and is among the best times to visit.  Regardless of the times you can still enjoy the parks by going to a green park, arriving at least 45 minutes before rope drop and following one of my TOURING PLANS to get the most out of

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Epcot Food and Wine Festival begins in August 2019.

I recommend the strategy of arriving early and taking a mid-afternoon break.  Go for a swim with the kids and enjoy the pool, then take a nap of an hour or so before returning to a park for evening entertainment and rides.

Will the park hours for Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom be extended?

Yes, it’s highly likely that the park hours will extend for many dates in August.  Disney usually releases preliminary hours, then adds hours the closer you get to your trip.

What will the weather be like during your August trip?

  • Average high temperature:  92°F
  • Average low temperature:  73°F
  • Mean temperature:  83°F
  • Record high temperature:  100°F (1961)
  • Record low temperature:  64°F (2000)
  • Average Precipitation:  7.71 in.

August  is the second hottest average month and 2nd rainiest in Orlando.  If you factor in the humidity, it can feel almost unbearable in the mid-afternoon.

Dress in light colors and wear comfortable shoes with socks that breathe.  Bring a small, handheld fan for each child.  Bring a poncho for each person and a stroller cover because there’s often afternoon thunderstorms in the summer.

Should I use Extra Magic Hours privilege?

Avoid the trap of visiting a park on its longest hours day.  More people will be there and the wait times can be 30% to 100% higher than other days.

Disney World Crowd Calendar June 2019

Disney World Crowd Calendar June 2019The Disney World Crowd Calendar June 2019 begins the busy summer season at Walt Disney World, so the crowd calendar is basically Orange for Heavy Crowds.  You can still enjoy the parks by going to a green park, arriving at least 60 minutes before rope drop and following one of my touring plans to get the most out of your day.

I recommend the strategy of arriving early and taking a mid-afternoon break.  Go for a swim with the kids and enjoy the pool, then take a nap of an hour or so before returning to a park for evening entertainment and rides.

Yes, it’s possible that the park hours will extend for many dates in June.  Disney usually releases preliminary hours, then adds hours the closer you get to your trip.

What will the weather be like during your June trip?

It still gets hot in beginning in May and into June, especially later in the month, with an average high of 89 and average low of 65, and it gets humid in Orlando.  Dress in light colors and wear comfortable shoes with socks that breathe.  Bring a small, handheld fan for each child.  Bring a poncho for each person and a stroller cover because there’s often afternoon thunderstorms in the summer.  June is in the upper 3rd in terms of rainy days, especially second half of the month

  • Average high temperature:  89°F
  • Average low temperature:  65°F
  • Mean temperature:  77°F
  • Record high temperature:  100°F (1967)
