Universal Orlando Islands of Adventure Characters

Universal Orlando Islands of Adventure Characters

Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure offers a variety of characters for meet and greets including Marvel characters, Woody, Popeye, Dr. Seuss characters and some Harry Potter experiences.

Characters aren’t usually too difficult to find or to meet.  Captain America and Spiderman are usually the only ones that build much of a line.  If you’d like to get a photo with Olivander (or get that wand), you’ll want to do that in Universal Studios, because the line is MUCH shorter there.  Most characters are willing to sign your autograph book and pose for photos.

Are Universal Photographers at each meet?

I’d say that one is iffy.  Some meets will have photographers, but many do not.  Have your camera or mobile device ready at each meet.

Should I expect long lines for characters at Islands of Adventure?

The Superheroes will build a long line each time they appear, especially Captain America.  The Grinch only appears in human form during Grinchmas and has a very long line when he comes.

Betty Boop appears in both parks.  She is full of energy and loves to blow kisses and hug.  She rarely has a long line, but is fun to spend time with.

Captain America

Captain America is very popular and his line is often full before he even begins his meet and greet.  He takes a great deal of time with each guest, but has a real heart for the handicapped.  I suggest arriving before his meet begins.

Cyclops

Cyclops Universal Orlando Islands of Adventure Characters

Marvel Superhero Island

I would rank Cyclops as the 3rd most popular hero.  He is a member of the Xmen.  A line will form for him once he begins, but you should be able to meet him within that set and still have time for 1 or 2 other Xmen.

Doctor Doom

Marvel Superhero Island – Villain

You’ll usually see the villains alternating with the heroes on Superhero Island.  If they hear of a hero, they usually run away.  Doctor Doom doesn’t usually have a long line.  Dr. Doom can be intimidating for young children.

Green Goblin

Marvel Superhero Island – Villain

Green Goblin can be a tricky one.  He will typically appear onstage, then run around messing with guests for 10 or 15 minutes before settling in for a meet around the arcade area.  He sometimes meets alone or with Dr. Doom and usually in the shade.  Green Goblin can be intimidating for small children.

The MARVEL characters better be removed from IOA, because Universal doesn’t own these guys, Disney does. I don’t care, if it was some stupid contract back in the 90s. I just want to see the Marvel heroes from the Cinematic Universe in WDW NOW! like Iron Man and Black Widow

They should have harry though... It would draw people in to the harry potter areas.

They don't really need to draw them into those areas. They need to draw them out into the rest of the park :)

Hi Kenny. I've read that the marvel characters make an entrance into the park after the villians do. My question is, at what time does this happen? Don't want to miss it if we go to a character breakfast.

Marvel character times are on the weekly map when you go there. The Villains and Heroes alternate every 30 minutes.

Kenny, I'll be going with my daughter's choir to Universal this week. I've read on TouringPlans.com that seeing characters in Universal is not anything like at WDW. True?

Usually much easier, but the meets around Mel's is a lot of chaos.
