Galaxy’s Edge Menu Returns to Original Names

Disney has reverted their menu listings back to the original Star Wars names faster than you can say Fried Endorian Tip-Yip.

Last week it was announced that the uniquely named entrees at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge would be changed to more traditional names. The exact reason for the change was not given, but it is likely because of the confusion some guests experienced when ordering food at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Disneyland.

Items like Braised Shaak Roast and Smoked Kaduu Ribs were changed to Beef Pot Roast and Smoked Pork Ribs, making it less confusing for guests who are trying to order but also removing the original Star Wars theming, which is part of what made the land so immersive. Perhaps the backlash that inevitably came from this change made Disney reconsider.

Original and unique Star Wars-themed names have returned to digital and online menus. There will likely still be some confusion because the physical menu boards at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo still have the new menu names, but I am sure the old unique ones will be put back up as soon as possible.

What do you think of these changes? Do you prefer the original Star Wars entree names or the more traditional ones? Let us know in the comments or on the KtP facebook page!

As long as it stays yummy, then it's all good. (I do prefer the fun names though).

I think Disney should stop screwing around with inane stuff like this and start dealing with their real problems.

The Skyliner incident is a perfect example, if the recent accident had happened on a hot humid July afternoon, things would have been much much worse. Heat stroke is actually a "thing" and can be fatal. The elderly and babies are particularly at risk. 3 and a half hours inside a tin can baking in the hot Florida sun, with no air conditioning and no air flow. Think about that, it would be horrible.

I won't ride the Skyliner on a warm sunny day until they install air conditioning in the gondolas. It's just not worth the risk.

Disney needs to put more effort into solving these bigger problems and less into messing around with food names on the menu. The Disney bloggers, vloggers, and media need to focus on the important and serious issues like the Skyliner Accident instead of this silly stuff as well.

I hope they keep the Star Wars-themed food as well as the names of other objects and places. It's all part of the fun of visiting. I think it's awesome that you can fully engross yourself in the land. I can see both points of view, but I would hate to see all the immersive things taken away for those of us who want to go and "play." Maybe Disney could do a little better in educating people about the different names before guests enter or maybe they could at least post a sign that gives everyone a heads-up and invites them to pick up some sort of glossary so they can be better prepared.

The mobile app still shows "earth names" I'd post a pic but it won't let me.
