Five Reasons Why Rope Drop at Magic Kingdom is a Must

Five Reasons Why Rope Drop at Magic Kingdom is a Must

For a stress-free Disney or Universal Studios vacation, let the FREE expert planners at Royal Carriage Vacations take care of every detail including dining reservations, applying discounts, and onboard cruise credit.

Yes, Disney vacations can be exhausting, but there are so many reasons to venture out early for Rope Drop…

Rope drop refers to entering the park as soon as the park opens. You are there as the figurative rope drops. Here are some reasons why you should do this!

1. Experience Main Street  “Walt Style”

You are able to enter the turnstiles into Magic Kingdom one hour before the Park officially opens.  With lower crowds and only Main St. open, it allows you to take in all of the beauty of this iconic Disney location.

I love this time of day because it reminds me of Walt Disney walking the streets of Disneyland before park opening.  You can glance up at the storefront windows and pay homage to all of the great Disney legends remembered there.

Take a stroll and see the window with Walt E. Disney’s name engraved above the Plaza Restaurant set across from Cinderella’s Castle.

2. The Castle without Photo Bombers

I think we all have at least one iconic castle shot with some random stranger photobombing in the background. Arriving before the massive crowds allows you to have a  unique opportunity to capture memories in front of the castle.

PhotoPass photographers are available at multiple sites before park opening to capture these images for you.

3. “Bare Necessities of Life”

This early morning admittance allows you to get prepared for “The Most Magical Place on Earth” with the three B’s:

  1. Bathroom Break
  2. Breakfast/Coffee:  Main St. Bakery has both yummy treats and Starbucks coffee
  3. Boutique:  In case you want to shop before you drop later.  Resort guests can have purchases taken to their hotel to be picked up the following day.

4. “Let The Magic Begin” Welcome Show

This show lasts for only five minutes, but truly sets the stage for your magical day.  The show is set on the Cinderella Castle stage and features so many iconic characters, all welcoming you to the Magic Kingdom.

5. “Got No Strings To Hold Me Down”

If you have a good plan in place, you can take advantage of low lines for the first hour after park opening.  Walk onto Peter Pan’s Flight? Yes, please!  Our strategy with my princesses is taking in all of Fantasyland within this first hour.

We plan our FastPasses two hours after park opening while enjoying the freedom to run from attraction to attraction with minimal waits.

I hope this helps to enhance your upcoming Magical Vacation.  Do you have any Magical Rope Drop Must Do’s?
