NEW! Halloween Happenings at Disney California Adventure Park

As Halloween Time falls upon the Disneyland Resort, Oogie Boogie has risen from the shadows to take over Disney California Adventure Park.

• Demanding that Halloween lasts forever, Oogie Boogie’s oversized silhouette beckons Guests through the Main Entrance as thousands of bats cover the night sky.
• Heed the Headless Horseman statue… its menacing presence on Buena Vista Street is simply spine-chilling.
• Hold onto your hats as swarms of black bats coil ‘round Carthay Circle’s Bell Tower
• Get revved when Haul-O-Ween bombards Cars Land and turns Radiator Springs into Radiator Screams!
• Bump into your fave Cars’ characters as they strike a pose in hilarious Halloween cars-tumes—see super hero Lightning, van-pire Mater and more!
• Go for a spellbinding spin on Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree—both are decked out with new howliday-themed music and décor!

Halloween Time will be offered at the Disneyland Resort from September 15 through October 31, 2017.  Mickey’s Halloween Party will allow you to visit with many Disney characters in special costuming as well as great Villain meets.  Here’s my review from the 2015 version  and the 2016 version and I’ll be there for the first weekend of Parties this year as well to report live.  Disneyland will offer the Headless Horseman as well!

Costume Guidelines

Before you brew up ideas for your next disguise—review our latest list of tips.While we encourage creativity, we also value safety and good judgement. Please take a moment to read over our latest rules and regulations:

• Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
• Guests who dress like characters may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
• Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
• Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
• Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
• Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (e.g. full-length Princess dresses).

For Guests Ages 13 and Under

Costumes and some masks may be worn, as long the mask does not cover the entire face and eyes are visible.

For Guests Ages 14 and Older

• Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
• Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and hats are acceptable.
• Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords and tutus. Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
• Masks of any kind may not be worn.

Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from, unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards.

Mickey’s Halloween Party often sells out, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.  Tickets go on sale on July 17 for Disneyland Annual Passholders, Chase Disney Visa holders and Disney Vacation Club members.  July 24 is the date for guests who don’t have those privileges.

In addition to the great parties, the resort decorates extensively for the season and offers a variety of Disney character meets in special costumes and villain meets DURING THE DAY as well!  I met Chip n Dale, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy in special costumes and villains like Queen of Hearts, Frollo, Jafar and Jack and Sally.

Mickey’s Halloween Party Details:

Parking is not included in the ticket price and parking fees will apply. Mickey’s Halloween Party is a nonsmoking event. Smoking will be permitted in designated areas outside Disneyland Park in the Main Entrance Plaza.

Mickey’s Halloween Party tickets are subject to availability and are valid only for specific event dates and hours. Space is limited and event dates may sell out. Limit eight (8) tickets per person, per event date. Tickets are nonrefundable and may not be resold. Tickets are not required for Guests ages 2 and under. Costumes subject to Disney guidelines and should not be obstructive or offensive. Parking is not included. Subject to restrictions and change without notice. Entertainment may be cancelled due to inclement weather or otherwise.

Ticket and Event Information

• A ticket is required for all Guests ages 3 and over.
• Space is limited, and tickets are available only while supplies last. Subject to capacity and other restrictions.
• Tickets are valid for admission to Mickey’s Halloween Party and to Disneyland Park beginning 3 hours prior to the start of the party.
• Tickets are nonrefundable and may not be sold or transferred for commercial use.
• Days and times of operation all other elements including, but not limited to, operation of attractions, entertainment, services, stores and restaurants, appearances of Disney Characters and applicable theme park may vary and are subject to change without notice.

There Is No Smoking at Mickey’s Halloween Party
This is a completely non-smoking event, and there will be no designated smoking areas within the park. Exit and reentry is permitted to designated smoking areas in the Esplanade outside the Disneyland Park Main Entrance.
