If you read the blog regularly, you’ll remember that I have posted several different rumors concerning the Epcot Character Spot and other Future World character meets. Well, it appears that the Character Spot will be closing until late January or February to provide a much needed face lift. It will likely close Sunday.
Goofy will join Daisy toward the opening of the park. Mickey, Minnie and Pluto will move elsewhere. I’ve heard that Donald will only meet in Mexico. I would love to see Mickey and Minnie together in futuristic costumes, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
I value the indoor meets for the AC and how it helps characters stay cool in the Florida heat, but I love how characters meeting in open spaces really bring life into the parks. Of course, I would be willing to give up one of the fabs in order to see Figment return.

So does this mean that the same characters are available but just not at the Character Spot? We're there next week so is it best to check the Times Guide to find out new locations?

If the change is made Sunday, I will update the schedules then and post photos and descriptions of the new locations. Same basic characters except only one Donald location.

Not happy! My inlaws are only doing one park day, Mon. the 22nd of Oct. at EPCOT. Our 1st stop was going to be to get pix. of all of us together at Character Spot in EPCOT. This will be their 2nd and last trip to FL due to my DMIL's health and she was so looking forward to getting pix. there.

I don't know if the characters themselves will offer any late night meets. We'll see, but the recent trend is moving away from that.
