RUMOR: Rivers of Light to offer special preview nights

Guests are clamoring for more information on the 7 new nighttime activities that are coming to Animal Kingdom on April 22, 2016. Something that has been rumored to occur is possible Preview Nights that will come at a cost.

Remember that this is to be treated as a rumor until Disney officially announces something and actual details are provided.  Rumors say there will be a “Premium” Preview Night on April 15 and a Preview Night on April 16 and there could be additional preview nights added between April 16 and 22.  Here’s the details I was provided:

Premium Preview Event – April 15th

Cost: $99.00

What you’ll likely receive:

• Access limited to 4,000 guests
• Access to rides after dark
• Collectible lanyard
• Beverages throughout park
• Food and Beverage Service from Flame Tree Barbecue & Harambe Market
• 4 extra hours in the park
• 2 showings of Rivers of Light
• “Fastpass” return card with specific time range to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris after dark.

Possible schedule:

• 7:00 PM  Guests arrive  for check-in process and receive lanyards.  Lanyard for ID Guests also receive “Fast Pass” Return Card for Sunset Safari (times beginning at 8pm due to sunset)
• 7:00-8:00PM Access to Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl, TriceraTop Spin
• 8:00-10:00PM Beverages available throughout park, Catering Food & Beverage Service: Flame Tree Barbecue and Harambe Market
• 8:30PM 1st River of Light Show
• 9:45PM 2nd River of Light Show
• 11:00PM Festivities conclude and all guests depart Main Entrance

Preview Event – April 16th

Cost: $49.00

What you’ll likely receive:

• Access limied to 8,000 guests
• Access to rides after dark
• Food and Beverage available for purchase
• 3.5 extra hours in the park
• 2 showings of Rivers of Light

Possible schedule:

• 5:30PM Check-in begins at Main Entrance and wristbands are provided.
• 5:30-6:30PM Guests are allowed to ride while park is open for regular hours.
• 7:00-10:30PM  Access to Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Primeval Whirl, TriceraTop Spin
• Food & Beverage available for purchase at Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks, Flame Tree Barbeque, Restaurantosaurus, and select food carts.
• 8:30PM 1st River of Light Show
• 9:45PM 2nd River of Light Show
• 10:30PM Event ends and all guests depart Main Entrance.

No word yet on when these possible events could be booked.
No word yet on when Animal Kingdom hours will be extended.
No word yet on whether Fastpass+ will be offer for Rivers of Light
No word yet on when they will open Dining Package booking

Using the show times as a guide for potential future showings, we could possibly see shows at 8:30pm, 9:45pm and 11:00pm based upon park hours in the near future.

Once Rivers of Light opens to all guests on April 22, 2016, it will be included in the regualar cost of tickets, but will likely offer special Dining Packages at some point.  Rumors point to a Counter Service meal at Flame Tree bbq, a single point Dining Plan meal at Tusker House and a 2 point meal at the new Tiffins Restaurant.  None of these are bookable at this time!
